Welcome to SEEDS & SKILLS

Europe’s tourism industry faces a critical juncture. Issues such as overtourism, environmental degradation, and a workforce ill-equipped to cope in a green economy can no longer be treated with band-aid solutions.

SEEDS & SKILLS project argues that the remedy lies in a more profound change: Regenerative Tourism

While traditional sustainability aimed at doing ‘less harm,’ regenerative tourism is about ‘doing good.’ It involves restoring environments, benefiting local communities, and reimagining how a career in tourism looks and feels.

SEEDS & SKILLS is laying the groundwork with evidence and training tools that move this agenda from intention to practice.

The project is gathering an evidence base and learning tools through a cross-European approach. This involves analyzing skills shortages, engaging with workers, educators, and businesses at the ground level, and integrating those insights into a tangible plan to redefine tourism education and employment.

Developing a common understanding of competencies and learning needs, a suite of digital learning modules and opportunities for dialogue across borders ensures SEEDS & SKILLS is a tool for enabling change.

For educators, businesses and policy-makers, the project provides an uncommon structure to collectively shape a tourism industry that gives back more than it takes.
