We cordially invite you to participate in the third session of free online workshops “Newcomers@work. Employers and migrants on the Polish labor market”, which will take place on February 17, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00.
The topic of the upcoming session is: “Understanding cultural differences is the key to effective communication”.

The issue of cultural differences is a very important topic in today’s multicultural and multinational society. If they are not correctly interpreted, they can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. People working in such a heterogeneous environment should be aware that the same gesture can mean something completely different in different cultures, and that surprising or even shocking behavior from a coworker does not result from their lack of good manners or dislike for us, but from different cultural scripts. So how can we use them to work better and more effectively? We will discuss this and many other fascinating issues at the upcoming workshops entitled Understanding cultural differences as the key to effective communication. During the workshops, we will address issues such as:
- Cultural differences – introduction: what they are and where they come from
- What areas do they most often concern and how do they manifest themselves
- How to deal with them when organizing work
Workshop agenda:
10:00 – 10:05 – Welcome and presentation of the purpose of the meeting
10:05 – 10:20 – Introduction to the workshop topics: what are cultural differences, where do they come from
10:20 – 11:00 – Conflict areas – which aspects of life and work can be perceived differently
11:00 – 11:30 – Ways to overcome cultural differences in diverse work environments
11:30 – 11:45 – Tools helpful in solving problems resulting from cultural differences developed as part of the Newcomers@work project
11:45 – 12:00 – Summary, questions from participants, discussion
The workshops are intended for employers, team managers and people responsible for the integration and training of employees. They will also be a valuable source of knowledge for all those who want to better understand the challenges associated with working with people from different cultures and support their professional development.
The workshops will be led by an expert from the FRAME Foundation, Dr. Agnieszka Banach.
