International Migrant Day
Today is International Migrants Day. People with a migration background are a significant force in the global labour market. International migrants play a key role in the global economy and in 2022 they accounted for 4.7% of the total global workforce, with the majority of them employed in high-income countries and in key sectors such as services, in particular care provision.

An interesting initiative in this area is the Newcommers@work project, aimed at young people aged 18-25 who arrive in European countries and encounter many barriers in accessing the social, political, economic and community life of the host country.
