Results of the ReligiTour project

What has the ReligiTour project produced? All the results are now available online!

After many months of intensive international collaboration, we are proud to present the outcomes of the ReligiTour project, which aimed to demonstrate how religious heritage can support the development of tourism, local communities and the building of a shared European identity.

On the website www.religitour.eu, you will find free resources developed by the project partners, including:

A conceptual framework – presenting a holistic approach to the development of religious tourism and the better integration of religious heritage into urban and suburban spaces.

The ReligiTour training pack, comprising:

• A handbook on religious tourism,

• A handbook on the integration of places of worship,

• A handbook on religious heritage featuring practical case studies, video materials and interviews with experts.

Two innovative models supporting:

• the development of professional competences in the field of religious tourism,

• the effective integration of religious heritage into social and educational life and into the urban and regional landscape.

A trainer’s guide to facilitate the delivery of training and the practical application of the developed tools.

The ReligiTour e-platform – a modern online space full of knowledge and educational materials on religious tourism and the promotion of religious heritage.

An e-library containing a rich collection of publications and materials on, amongst other things, the management of religious tourism, the protection and promotion of religious heritage, and its role in local and European development.

All materials have been prepared with representatives of local authorities, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, universities, the tourism sector and anyone interested in cultural heritage and its potential in mind.
