3 days of training as part of the ReligiTour project in Italy
The last three days of training as part of the ReligiTour project in Italy are behind us.
September 3rd โ we moved our meetingsโฆ on board! During the cruise, we analyzed case studies related to community integration and religious heritage. There was also time for a moment of relaxation and a swim in the sea. In the afternoon, we visited Ugento and Gallipoli, where we explored the rich religious heritage โ from the Crypt of the Savior and archaeological museums to the Baroque Co-Cathedral of St. Agatha and the picturesque churches in the historic center.
On September 4th, we began our pilgrimage with Giuliano to Leuca Piccola โ a place of exceptional significance to ancient travelers on their way to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Leuca. There, we worked on analyzing case studies on the integration of religious heritage in local communities. In the afternoon, we set off on a study visit to Otranto, where we admired, among other things, the famous 12th-century mosaic “Tree of Life” in the cathedral and the historic center.
September 5th was dedicated to summarizing our activities. We analyzed observations from the field visits, worked on national pilot plans, and developed guidelines for trainers. The meeting concluded with an evaluation and the distribution of participation certificates. It was a moment filled with gratitude and reflection on the journey we had shared.
We returned home enriched with knowledge, experiences, and inspiration that we will implement in our local communities.
We thank all our partners and organizers for these extraordinary days in Italy! ![]()
